Canada: An open air museum reenactment of Günther Grass’s novel The Flounder, a form of dried and salted cod manufactured from cigarette butts and wheat stubble. Originally developed to test the Frankenstein Hypothesis, but gone feral and now often seen swimming in the literary salons of Montreal. See also: Mordecai Richler.

Bubble Wrap

Jonathan Franzen: Occassionally a realist American novelist, rarely a novel American realist, frequently a multi-use object doing double duty as a makeup mirror, a sleep aid, and a doorstop; highly recommended to Creative Writing students.

Outstanding

Outstanding: A literary form in which elements interact dynamically. Interactions may be physical or may involve the exchange of information or DNA. Most outstanding are projected realizations of the real.

Understanding

Understanding: What you do with an umbrella, before the wind gets it. After that, the verb changes to outstanding.

Poverty

Poverty: A Boggle version of poetry, a form of cognitive dissonance resulting from a printer’s error on Shakespeare’s First Folio and now one of the foundation stones of civilization.

Stereotype

Stereotype: The ability to type with two thumbs at once on a keyboard the size of an android’s eyeball; the reason that contemporary poems can be turned on their sides to be manipulated without the aid of glasses or used syringes.
